Day 1: Cusco (3,300 m.a.s.l.) - Cloud Forest (1,700 m.a.s.l.) - Lodge (400 m.a.s.l.)

We will depart from Cusco early in the morning, traveling in our vehicle. As we traverse fascinating valleys nestled between the Andes mountains, we'll pass through charming rural communities. Our journey includes a visit to the pre-Incan tombs of the Lupaca culture, followed by a stop in the beautiful colonial town of Paucartambo to explore its intriguing museum.

Along the way, we will enjoy lunch in the cloud forest. Continuing our descent through this biodiverse area, we may encounter endemic species such as the spectacled bear and the Andean cock-of-the-rock, Peru's national bird known for its unique courtship display. We'll also have the chance to see various orchids, bromeliads, and ferns.

Our adventure through stunning natural landscapes will lead us to Atalaya port, where we will board a motorboat for a 30-minute journey down the river to our lodge, where we will spend our first night.

Day 2: Lodge - Clay Lick - Zip Line - Machuwasi Lake - Night Walk

Early in the morning, we will head to the macaw clay lick, where various parrot species gather to consume the mineral-rich clay that aids in their digestion and detoxification. After returning to the lodge for breakfast, we will embark on a 2-3 hour hike through the forest.

Following lunch, guests can relax, swim in the river, or choose to go zip-lining. In the afternoon, we will visit Lake Machuwasi and take rafts to observe birds like the hoatzin, and possibly spot monkeys and capybaras. As night falls, we will go on a nocturnal walk to look for insects and amphibians. Afterward, we will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge.

For those interested, an optional zip-lining activity offers a thrilling view of the jungle canopy, with all safety equipment provided.

Day 3: Amazon Manu Lodge - Hot Spring - Cusco

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we'll have the opportunity to swim in the hot springs of Atalaya. Then, we'll board our boat back to Puerto Atalaya, where our bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. We will stop for lunch along the way and expect to arrive in Cusco between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
