Inka Jungle 4 Days and 3 Nights

The Inka Jungle tour combines adventure sports such as mountain biking, canoeing, canopy (zip line) and scenic hikes during 4 days to Machu Picchu. Optionally (according to availability) you can access one of the additional mountains: "Montaña Vieja" or "Huayna Picchu".

First Day: Cusco - Santa Maria

We will pick you up from your hotel between 7:00 and 7:30 am; departure towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will be able to appreciate beautiful and picturesque natural and cultural attractions. Then we will stop for 15 to 20 minutes near Ollantaytambo, (to buy something to eat, use toilets, etc.). We will continue our journey to the Malaga pass which is at an altitude of 4316 m.a.s.l., after 10 minutes we will start with the descent on bicycles towards the high jungle for 2 hrs. to 3 hrs. (43km) passing through small villages, fruit fields, rivers and streams, ending the bike tour to Huamanmarca, then continue by car to the town of Santa Maria.

During the descent with bicycles we will have the support of our private vehicle which will give security to the group arriving at the village of Santa Maria (1200 m) where we will spend our first night in a family home.

Optional: canoeing for an average of 2 hrs.

Second Day: Santa Maria - Santa Teresa

We will wake up early to enjoy breakfast and then we will start the hike (21km) along the river bank, making an ascent through the mountain that will take us 1½ hrs. approximately until we reach the highest point, where we can appreciate the whole valley as well as the slope of the canyon. Part of this walk will be done by a stretch of original Inca trail, to reach the village of Quellomayo where we will have our lunch, rest, then continuing our walk to pass the river through the oroya towards the hot springs of Cocalmayo, and then continue to Santa Teresa to spend the second night in our hostel.

Third Day: Santa Teresa - Machu Picchu

Optional: zipline (2hrs.) in case of doing it we only walk from Aguas Calientes hydroelectric.

After a nutritious breakfast, we will go to hydroelectric point where we will have lunch and then continue our walk to the town of Aguas Calientes for approximately 3hrs, by train (11km).

Fourth Day: Machu Picchu - Cusco

At 4:00 a.m. we will get ready to go to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu walking approximately 1hr and a half, thus having the opportunity to see the sunrise. Once entering the archaeological park we will have the guided tour for an average of 2hrs where the guide will explain the most important points, after the guided we will have free time without guide to take pictures and visit other places inside the citadel of Machu Picchu.
